Questions, bugs, and feature requests for BeeWatch — the Apple Watch app for logging your Beeminder goals.

When reporting a bug, it helps to include your watchOS version, the app version (shown at the bottom of the watch app's Settings screen), and what you were doing when it happened.

Where do I find my Beeminder API key?

Sign in to Beeminder in a browser and visit beeminder.com/api/v1/auth_token.json. The page shows your personal auth_token. The app links to this page from its Settings screen.

Do I need the iPhone app?

No. The watch app works on its own — you can paste your API key directly into the watch app's Settings. The iPhone app is there because typing a long key is easier on a phone; enter it once there and it syncs to the watch.

The key I entered on my iPhone hasn't reached my watch.

Syncing uses Apple's WatchConnectivity, which needs both devices awake and paired. Open the iPhone app, then open the watch app's Settings and tap the sync option. If it still doesn't arrive, paste the key directly into the watch app's Settings — that always works.

Using the app

How are goals ordered?

By urgency: the goal closest to derailing is at the top, so the thing that needs you most is the first thing you see.

Where do the quick-entry buttons come from?

They're built from your most frequent recent values for that goal, so repetitive check-ins take a single tap. Log something unusual once and the buttons adapt over time.

How do I add a complication?

On your watch, press and hold the watch face, tap Edit, swipe to the complications screen, tap a slot, and choose BeeWatch from the list.

Why haven't I had a reminder?

Reminders only fire when a goal actually needs data — that's deliberate. Check the reminder settings in the app, and make sure notifications are allowed for BeeWatch in the Watch app on your iPhone.
