Privacy Policy

BeeWatch is an independent, third-party client for Beeminder. This policy explains what the app does with your information. It describes the app as shipped; if the app changes, this policy will be updated.

The short version

• BeeWatch has no servers of its own and no analytics or advertising.
• The only place your data goes is Beeminder, at your direction, to show your goals and log your datapoints.
• Your Beeminder API key is stored on your device and shared only between your own iPhone and Apple Watch.

What the app stores

• Beeminder API key. Stored locally on your device (and in a shared app group so the watch app and its complications can use it). It is synced between your own iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity. It is never sent to the developer or to any third party other than Beeminder itself, as the authentication token on your Beeminder API requests.
• App preferences — for example reminder settings and your most frequent entry values. Stored locally on your device.

What the app sends, and to whom

• The Beeminder API (www.beeminder.com). The app makes requests to Beeminder to fetch your goals and datapoints and to submit new datapoints. These requests include your API key and travel over HTTPS. Your use of Beeminder is governed by Beeminder's own privacy policy and terms.

What the developer collects

Nothing. The developer operates no backend and receives no personal data, usage data, or diagnostics from the app.

Data retention and deletion

Because data is stored only on your device, you can remove it at any time by deleting the app, or by clearing the API key in the app's Settings. Data held in your Beeminder account is managed through Beeminder.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect information from children. It collects no personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
